Christine and Brian

As I said in my last post, I was in Maryland for the weekend at the Savage River Lodge, photographing a wedding. The lodge had casual elegance with great wine and excellent food. Check them out in this month's issue of Southern Living Magazine. Christine and Brian had gorgeous weather on Saturday which allowed them to get married in their #1 choice spot, outside on the deck. The light was perfect and it was a joy to work with them. All their friends were so fabulous and everyone had a great time. View the slideshow here

Savage River Lodge

Hello from Maryland. I am photograhing an intimate wedding in the mountains of Maryland this weekend, near Baltimore. I even went cross-country skiiing today on fresh powder! Tomorrow is the big day and I'm excited for snowy portraits. The first photo is the lodge where the reception will be and I'm staying in one of these quaint cabins. Check out Savage River Lodge

Flagstaff Film Festival

I am the co-director of the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival this year. I usually try to volunteer for a community advocacy organization and this year I was presented with the opportunity to be the marketing and sponsorship coordinator for the FMFF. Volunteer work is the hardest work I ever do, but it's also the most rewarding. I look forward to the festival, which is March 8-11 and hope some of you will attend!

Norther Arizona Bridal Expo

I participated in the Northern Arizona Bridal Expo on Saturday. It's a small bridal show with mostly Flagstaff vendors but it was fun to set up a booth. I ordered a new logo banner and a big gallery wrap print.

Business of Storytelling Workshop

This past week I attened the LaCour workshop: the business of storytelling which was held in Atlanta, Georgia. As you may know, LaCour photographed my wedding! This was an intimate look at how to operate one's business more efficiently, how to create systems within my business and outlining some basic marketing strategies. It was fun to hang out with a bunch of 'photo-geeks' (as I fondly refer to any group of photographers that get together and end up chatting about f-stops, camera focus points, shutter speeds, etc). Donna Shoemaker, my up-coming assistant attended with me and we had a fabulous time and came away inspired. The photos are from the point at the workshop where we learned new lighting techniques at the Biltmore Ballroom in Atlanta.

Casey and Jasmine

I photographed a great wedding this weekend in Boston for my cousin Casey. He and his wife, Jasmine were both thrilled to be getting married. Their love was palpable. I enjoyed being a witness to their special day and was honored to take the photographs.
